From the Principal

It is with mixed feelings that I announce that my wife Carol and I have made the family decision to spend a year teaching in the Middle East. 

In doing so, we are closer to our aging parents in the UK and able to take on new insights from the international teaching community. The board have graciously granted me a year’s refreshment leave which commences after Friday 22nd March 2024. 

The board are currently in the process of appointing an acting Principal and will advise the community shortly. 

Pigeon Mountain is a very special school and community, and this decision is not one which has been made lightly. Thank you for the support and aroha that you have shown me over the last nine years, and I look forward to enhancing the school through the learnings that this journey will offer. 

It is a privilege to lead such an amazing staff team and I will miss their incredible professionalism and deep commitment to providing Education with a Heart. I thank the board for this opportunity.

Meet the Teacher

Our Meet the Teacher event takes place this Thursday!

Starting in the hall from 6.30pm, parents will then move to classrooms from 7pm for presentations and the opportunity to get to know your child’s 2024 classroom teacher!

Family Picnic

Weather permitting, this year’s Family Picnic takes place on the school field on Wednesday 14th February from 5pm. Bring along your picnic blanket, favourite food, and get to know other members of the Pigeon Mountain School community. This event is the perfect opportunity for a romantic Valentine’s Day date!

Bucklands Beach Intermediate Carpark

Access to Bucklands Beach Road through the BBI Carpark is now closed due to building work. We will update you when you are able to use this access way again.

Absence from School

All absences from school for whatever reason must be reported via the school website, @school app or School Office Ph 09 534 9765.
