Māhuri Learning Assembly
Our first Learning Assembly of the year is this Friday, and we’re excited to welcome whānau of our Māhuri (Year 1) students! This is a special opportunity to celebrate the wonderful learning that has taken place and to see our youngest learners shine. We look forward to seeing you there!
Lakewood Lodge Year 6 Camp
Next Tuesday, our Year 6 students head off to Lakewood Lodge Camp for an unforgettable four-day adventure! Camp is a special time where students build friendships, strengthen teamwork, and develop important life skills beyond the classroom.
Throughout the week, students will:
✅ Build relationships and make new friendships
✅ Support one another in new and challenging situations
✅ Work as a team to solve problems and overcome obstacles
✅ Develop communication skills and learn to collaborate effectively
✅ Take responsibility for themselves and their belongings
✅ Engage in Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC), a key part of the NZ Curriculum
✅ Challenge themselves, set goals, and push their limits
✅ And most importantly—have FUN!
We wish all our campers an amazing experience and look forward to hearing about their adventures when they return! ️
Extra Curricular
Cricket
We wish our cricket team the very best for their first day of competition tomorrow. We are thankful to Miss Cambie and our parents’ help that has made this a possibility!
School Community Events
Celebrating Culture at PMPS!
Our Cultural Dress Down Day was an incredible celebration of the diversity within our school! It was fantastic to see so many students proudly wearing clothing that represents their culture, and the morning parade was a vibrant display of colour, tradition, and pride. A huge thank you to the many parents and whānau who joined us to support and celebrate this special event.
Throughout the day, students took part in engaging cultural activities in their classrooms, deepening their understanding and appreciation of the many cultures that make up our school community. Did you know that we have students from over 20 cultures at our school?! Events like this remind us of the strength in our diversity and the importance of celebrating who we are.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day so special!
Support Our School Through New World Howick’s Giveback Campaign!
We’re excited to be part of New World Howick’s Giveback Campaign, where the local community has the power to help us secure a share of $3,000 in the month of March!
Every time you shop at New World Howick, you’ll receive a token. Simply drop your token into our school’s box to show your support. The more tokens we collect, the larger our share of the prize pool!
This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to our school—every token will help us fund new basketball boards and hoops for our students. Spread the word, encourage friends and whānau to get involved, and let’s work together to make this happen for our tamariki!
Thank you for your support!

Policies and Procedures
Enjoying our School Grounds
We love seeing our school grounds enjoyed by families and the community outside school hours! To keep them safe and welcoming for everyone, we ask that you show respect for our environment and take responsibility for looking after it.
To protect our facilities, please avoid riding e-scooters and e-bikes on our turfed surfaces. If you see anything suspicious, please report it to the school or the appropriate authorities. Together, we can keep Pigeon Mountain Primary a place we’re all proud of!
Car Park Safety
Our car park is strictly out of bounds for students, including before and after school. We kindly remind you to use the designated pathways around the buildings rather than walking through the car park. This helps us reinforce road safety awareness for your children.
School Grounds at the end of the day
We have a policy that our playground is not allowed to be used after school until 4pm. We stipulate this time as it gives children enough time to go home, have a snack and return with adult supervision to play. A reminder that all students should be off site by 3:15pm unless they are in BizzyBodz.
